ABOUT HYDROGEN AND METHANOL PLANTS
The process involves methane that is able to react with steam, at moderate pressure and high temperature (850°) in the presence of a catalyst. The result is the production of Hydrogen and Carbon Monoxide. The process of steam methane reforming is widely used in the oil and gas industry for Hydrogen production and Syngas reforming. Syngas is a mixture of H2 and CO produced by steam reforming and partial oxidation that can be used for diverse commercial purposes. The Methanol production involves three steps: syngas preparation, methanol synthesis and methanol purification. The purification takes place in two different tall distillation columns where the methanol will be refined and up to customer specification.
